Tight Supply Drives Fats, Oils & Grease Prices Higher

Bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) prices moved higher today for renderer material. Trading was done at 44.5 Chicago for five rail cars. Four rail cars of packer BFT traded at 42.5 traded today, steady with the last traded level.

Choice white grease prices are higher out of the Missouri River on tight supply. Plant disruptions have tightened spot availability and driven nearby prices to a high of 39 cents. There has been limited volume as high as 39.25. Yellow grease prices are higher as well, but sellers are reporting push back at the higher levels.

Distillers corn oil (DCO) prices moved higher across the country today. The nearby soybean oil market took a big drop today, but recent moves higher are supportive of the increased corn oil values. Continued tight production and additional demand from the renewable…
