California UCO Prices Trade Higher

Edible tallow traded lower today in eight cars, technical tallow higher in four cars and both settling at 54.5 cents Chicago. The bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) market was quiet for both grades, but strength at the CME have offers out at higher levels.

Yellow grease traded higher out of the California markets today, as high as 38.5 FOB Los Angeles and San Francisco. Prices outside of California were unchanged today, but tight supplies continue to add upside risk to the market. Forward sales at higher prices into the renewable markets adds additional risk for higher prices as short sellers cover in material.
