DDGS Supply Climbs to 12-Week High as Ethanol Stocks Fall to 15-Week Low
Ethanol production reached the sixth highest weekly run rate since the pandemic started in March of 2020. DDGS and ethanol output increased 33,000 barrels per day to a 971 thousand-barrel-per-day average during the week ending March 12, 2021. Weekly ethanol output was 3.5 percent above the week prior but six percent below levels seen at this time last year. DDGS output increased 3,139 MT per day but was 6,087 MT’s per day below production from a year ago.
Gasoline supply declined 3.3 percent and was 13 percent below 2020 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks declined 3.3 percent to 21.3 million barrels, reaching a 15-week low. Imports of sugarcane ethanol were absent on the West Coast for the thirteenth consecutive week. Increased…
