Biodiesel output strong in Q2; producers start locking in Q3-Q4 sales
A second producer echoed this sentiment and said they have had to work a bit harder to secure feedstock to line it up with sales at the right time.
Illinois Senate Agriculture Chair Patrick Joyce advanced a measure that aims to create a statewide renewable fuel standard. The measure is co-sponsored by Senator Linda Holmes. Senate Bill 2394 would require all diesel fuel sold or offered for sale in Illinois for use in internal combustion engines must contain five percent biodiesel on and after July 1, 2021 and at least 20 percent biodiesel on and after July 1, 2024.
Senate Bill 2394 passed the Senate Agriculture Committee Thursday April 15 and is currently waiting assignment. The Bill also amends the Use Tax Act, the Service Use Tax Act, the Service Occupation Tax Act, and the Retails’ Occupation Tax Act.
