Corn, Soybean Oil Locked Limit Up

 

Biannual Review Leads to Allowance for Larger One-Day Price Limits in Grains

Following a routine biannual review, the CME Group announced it has decided to expand daily price limits for grain and soybean futures traded at the Chicago Board of Trade.  The new limits will take effect on the first trading day in May and will remain in effect through the last trading day in October. Corn and soybean oil ended the day limit up and will see expanded limits tomorrow.

The current daily price limits in effect are:

  • Corn – $0.25/per bushel
  • Soybeans – $0.70/per bushel
  • Soybean Meal – $25/per ton
  • Soybean Oil – $0.025/per pound
  • SRW and HRW Wheat – $0.40/per bushel

Beginning in May they will become:

  • Corn – $0.40/per bushel
  • Soybeans – $1.00/per bushel
  • Soybean Meal – $30/per ton
  • Soybean Oil – $0.035/per pound
