Washington St. LCFS Moves to Gov, Hinges on Transportation Bill

 

Washington State Clean Fuels Program

Washington State has passed legislation that will direct the Department of Ecology to adopt a clean fuels program similar to ones in California and Oregon. The Bill moved to the Governor’s desk today where it awaits signature.  The measure did not make it out of the Senate in each of the past two years, so this is positive news for the bill sponsors and the Governor who has been pushing for this measure.  Implementation of the clean fuels standard still hinges on passage of a transportation revenue package, which lawmakers said would be taken up at a later date following the end of the regular session.  The regular session adjourned Sunday April 26.
