LCFS Credit Volume Slows

Weekly LCFS credit volume of 520,137 was 53 percent below last week’s volume and nine percent under the 2021 weekly average of 570,006.  Second quarter volume is 61 percent over first quarter volume and 60 percent above Q2 of 2020. The average price paid per credit declined $0.79 to $191.87. Of the 33 transactions during the week, 27 percent were type 1 transfers of 139,770 credits and 73 percent were type 2 transfers totaling 380,367. Type 1 transactions are executed within 10 days of an agreement. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement. Type 1 transactions may give a more accurate indication of current market conditions since Type 2 transactions do not provide a date the agreement was entered into.
