LCFS Credits Outpace Deficits
Total credit volume within California’s LCFS program increased 265,896 to 4.34 million during the fourth quarter of 2020. This was 6.53 percent above Q3 and 6.1 percent more than in Q4 of 2019. Deficit production fell by 56,301 to 3.96 million during the fourth quarter of 2020. This was 1.4 percent below Q3 but 1.8 percent above Q4 2019.
Biodiesel and renewable diesel consumption showed strong growth during fourth quarter reporting. Biodiesel credit generation increased 56,374 to 649,972 during the fourth quarter.
