Seaboard Energy on Track to Open Renewable Diesel Plant

 

Hugoton Kansas RD Plant Expected to be Operational by Dec 31, 2021

Seaboard Energy, a division of Seaboard Foods and a wholly owned subsidiary of Seaboard corporation announced they are staying on track with plans to convert the former Abengoa ethanol plant, aquired in February 2019, to a renewable diesel facility in Hugoton, Kansas.

Seaboard Energy is developing a greenfield fat and oil pre-treatment plant, hydrogen plant and renewable diesel plant on the 800-acre site. Seaboard Energy President and CEO Gary Louis announced, “The facility location provides Seaboard Energy a strategic geographic advantage to capitalize on the integrated supply of inputs from area feedstock producers, Seaboard Foods’ processing plant and Seaboard Foods’ farms.”
