One car of technical tallow traded late yesterday at 65 cents Chicago. Ten cars were offered out at 64 cents Chicago and untraded as of press time.
Choice white grease (CWG) prices were flat today with no changes reported. The monthly average for May is going to be the second highest since the 50.77 cents pound average in May of 2011. The all-time high for a monthly average is June of 2011 at 52.48. It’s reasonable to expect the monthly average high to be surpassed this year as strong demand continues to push the CWG market higher. Corn may be a limiting factor to the upside in the near term.
