Organic Corn Harvest Faces Minor Risks of Drought

 

New crop corn prices remain stable on the coasts, with Texas bid at $12 and similar figures in Pennsylvania and California. The Jacobsen does not see any imports of organic corn or organic cracked corn expected to make it to the East Coast during the next few weeks. Organic feed wheat prices continue to trade as a discount to organic corn prices. Recent surveys and discussions with merchandisers lead The Jacobsen to believe that this year’s organic corn crop will be similar in production to the 2020/2021 marketing year. The issue for corn will come down to the drought and whether it continues to spread to the southern mid-West in the next few weeks.
