Porcine BM Firmer while MBM Remains Flat

Increased activity was noted on the animal protein market today, with most pricing moving firmer. Contrary to the day was the Indiana porcine meat and bonemeal (MBM) market, which witnessed wider ranges due to accounts of increased offerings at some locations. Porcine blood meal had multiple reports from contributors of thin supplies, leading to firm pricing for Miss River, Indiana, and the Mid-South with as high as $1200/ST. Feathermeal also saw some increased tones, with a high of $500/ST reported Carolina FOB. 

Porcine meat and bonemeal (PMBM) for July is currently priced around $452.50/ST, only showing modest price gains since June when an average of $451.48/ST was noted. Even with a relatively stead call, PMBM is witnessing a 120 percent year-over-year increase as well as an 89 percent gain over the 3-year average.
