Biodiesel Exports Surpass Imports for Third Consecutive Month

 

June Biodiesel Imports Rise 46%, Exports Reach Another Monthly All-Time High 

The US imported 19 million gallons of biodiesel during June while exporting 27.4 million gallons. Exports exceeded imports for the third time in as many months. Export volume is exceeding import volume for the year.  If that holds up through the year, it will be a first. June exports were 10.4 percent above May and 30 percent over June of 2020.  Imports increased 46 percent from May and were four percent above June of 2020, according to the US Census Bureau. Import volume is off to a slow start and trails that of 2020 by 17 percent through June. Export volume continues at a solid rate and is 27 percent over the 2020 pace through June. 

The United States averaged 17 million gallons of imports per month during 2020 while exporting 12 million gallons.  The average through June of 2021 is 14.6 million gallons for imports…
