Higher SBO Prices Help Boost DCO Market

Prices were higher across the board today on improving rail logistics and demand as well as higher soybean oil and energy prices. Soybean oil prices moved above 60 cents per pound for the October and December contracts, boosting bullish sentiment in the animal fats market. The increase helped distillers corn oil sellers move the market above 60 cents per pound FOB in a number of locations. Buyers were able to secure material as low as 59 FOB earlier in the day, but sources indicated product below 60 cents was becoming harder to find as the day progressed. 

Choice white grease traded higher on a Chicago basis for five rail cars. Mo. River trading was higher as well in trucks. Yellow grease and used cooking oil prices moved higher on an FOB and delivered basis as demand from the renewable sector continues to heat up.
