Limited Activity Leads to a Steady Call

Trade for Tuesday was reported from several contacts as quiet. With the AFOA Conference this week, multiple participants in the market where traveling or were not moving items today.A steady call was noted for the fats and oils market.

Market participants have continually communicated their logistics troubles. Labor shortages and truck limitations persist and, in some cases, have increased as new COVID-19 cases have increased absenteeism and the soybean and corn harvest has reallocated resources to the harvest. According to the most recent information from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS), trucking, rail, and water transportation employment continues to be under peak levels from early in 2020.
