LCFS Credit Transaction Hit Highest Price Level Since December 17, 2020

 

LCFS Credit Volume Remains Strong

LCFS credit volume pulled back from last week’s record-breaking volume to ninth spot on the record weekly volume list. Weekly volume of 962,792 was 28 percent below the prior week but 109 percent over the 2021 weekly average of 460,414.  Fourth quarter volume is 135 percent above third quarter volume and 77 percent over Q4 of 2020. There were 110 transactions during the week, down from 151 the week before. The weighted average price paid per credit declined $1.55 to $180.87. Of the 110 transactions posted, Type 1 transfers totaled 185,833 credits and Type 2 transfers accounted for 776,959 credits. Type 1 transfers accounted for 30 percent of the transactions and 19 percent of the volume.

Type 1 transactions are executed within 10 days of an agreement. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement. Type 1 transactions may provide a more accurate indication of market conditions and price…
