LCFS Transaction Volumes Remain Strong

The volume of LCFS credits traded during the week ending January 2, 2022, totaled 773,226, according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Type 1 transfers totaled 136,153 credits, while type 2 transfers accounted for 485,920 credits.

Type 1 transactions are executed within 10 days of an agreement and would be considered spot market trades. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement and do not provide a date the agreement was entered. Type 1 transfers had a price range of $143.50 to $154 and a weighted average price of $148.70 during the week. Type 2 transactions had a price range of $143.50 to $199.67 and a weighted average of $177.05.
