Choice white grease traded in a very wide spread today with loads reported in a range of 46 – 55 FOB. Trucks were reported as high as 62 FOB from trading yesterday out of the Mo. River market. Production interruptions and shipping complications are contributing to the wide range. Buyers able to arrange trucking in short order have been able to buy at the lower end of the range and sellers moving material outside of the one to two-week window are commanding a premium. There is real concern in the market is over supply availability moving through January as COVID-19 cases continue to short-staff packing plants as well as all points within the logistics chain.
The EIA estimated ethanol production at 1.006 million barrels per day for last week, the lowest output estimate since the week ending October 1st.
