Contain Shortages Remain an Issue for Non-GMO Soybean Exporters

 

While organic specialty agriculture is domestically used and imported, plenty of non-GMO identities preserved grains are exported. Non-GMO soybean premiums have edged higher recently, but with the cost of the board continuing to rise, farmers are becoming less interested in locking in a premium relative to conventional and more interested in locking in a flat price. The combination of higher soybean flat prices and higher transportation costs makes the non-GMO soybean/meal export business more difficult for U.S. domestic suppliers with clients overseas.

Specialty soybean beans and soybean meals are grown in the United States are used in specialty products in many Asian locations. These products include Tofu, Soy milk, Miso, and Natto. Unfortunately, one of the side effects of pandemic supply chain disruptions is the inability to find containers.
