World Energy Resumes Biodiesel Production in Harrisburg

 

World Energy Temporarily Brings Harrisburg Pa Facility Back Online

In early February, World Energy paused biodiesel production while evaluating the market.  World Energy is the second largest producer of biodiesel in the U.S. with nameplate capacity above 200 million gallons a year.

Following an end of the year surge in biodiesel output, economics and a hangover in supply caused production to slow, giving many producers the opportunity for planned maintenance and a chance to evaluate the economics of production, given low 2022 RIN values. 

December biodiesel consumption reached 216 million gallons, of which, 165 million gallons were from domestic production.  During January, biodiesel consumption slipped to 103 million gallons, with 90 million gallons coming from domestic production.
