Mo. River yellow grease prices were firmer today, with indications bumping up to 47-48 cents. Sources attributed this to recent strength in distiller’s corn oil (DCO) and choice white grease (CWG) prices. CWG and DCO values have been rallying with robust demand from both the feed and the U.S. renewable fuel sectors underpinning gains.
The tallow market was quiet again on a cash basis, although packer BFT into the Gulf traded at 57.50 cents delivered late on Tuesday and was bid at 57 cents delivered today. In addition, 40 trucks of BFT traded outside the Chicago rail corridor on Tuesday afternoon at 60.25 cents delivered, Chicago equivalent.
