DCO Prices Start to Peel Lower with Collapse in SBO

Trading for fats and greases was again very quiet at midweek. Many contacts were at the second day of the Jacobsen Biofuels and Feedstock Conference in Chicago. Distiller’s corn oil (DCO) prices started to peel lower in the wake of the ongoing collapse in soybean oil markets. Ten railcars of DCO traded at 53 cents delivered into Manly, Iowa early, while another ten railcars traded at 54 cents delivered later in the day. Midwest truck bids were heard between 48-50 cents delivered.

The EIA estimated ethanol production estimates at last week for 987,000 bbl/day in today’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report. The estimate is up 22,000 bbl/day from last week’s figure, but still below the Q1 average of 1.005 mil bbl/day.
