EU Organic Grain Prices Continue to Slide

European organic grain prices are slowly edging lower, and activity is light. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that organic soybean meal is offered nearly €770-780 per metric ton for Chinese organic soybean meal and closer to €840 delivered to feed mills. This figure equals $770 per short ton and $840 per short ton, respectively.

The price for European crushed organic soybean meal that is crushed by non-EU beans is higher than the U.S. price, near €880 per metric ton ($880 per short ton). Organic soybean oil is quoted at around €950 per metric ton, but demand for oil in the short term is dead. Some of the oil is going into the non-GMO soybean oil market. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that organic corn prices have also dipped and are closer to €380 per metric ton. Feed grade organic wheat is trading lower, near €300 per metric ton.
