Ethanol Production Drops Under 1 Million bpd for Fifth Week

Market Update

Wheat midds, on Minn and Kansas City, were higher today on indications of very short offering levels. Out front pricing is expected to push downward on accounts on increased inventories. Trading out front has been called “limited” due to market uncertainty and the upcoming holiday weekend. 

Weekly Ethanol Update

Weekly ethanol production dropped from last week, though values have remained under one million per day mark for the fifth week in a row. A decrease of 4,000 bpd from the prior week bumped totals down to 983 thousand barrel-per-day average for week ending May 19th. Ethanol output was 0.4 percent below last week and 3.0 percent under year ago levels for the respective week. DDGS fell 381 MT from the week prior to 93,491 MT.
