EIA Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update – Biomass Based Diesel Feedstock Consumption Record High
The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update for March lists operable US Biofuel production capacity at 23.099 billion gallons, 381 million gallons above February and 2.08 billion gallons over March 2022. The Petroleum Supply Monthly report, also released today, disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 29.8 million barrels, 3.5 million over February and 331,000 barrels above March 2022. US inputs of renewable fuel were 65 percent of capacity during March, up from 58 percent in Feb.
