The Australian tallow market was well supported this week from strong demand from the renewable sector. The start of Neste’s Singapore expansion in addition to demand from the North American market has a lot of demand in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Australian cattle slaughter continues to be very strong with the MLA estimating national slaughter at 116,534 head last week.

EU prices were lower this week on continued weakness from the biodiesel sector. Big imported volume, especially from Asia, has weighed on the European markets and this continues to pressure fat and used cooking oil prices.
