Porcine and Ruminant Largest Movers in Month-on-Month Averages

Light trade was witnessed on Friday with most participants working on next week’s trade.

For the month of May, animal proteins were mixed with unsettled undertones and indications as limited offerings. The largest month-on-month adjustment was on bloodmeal, both porcine and ruminant, moving up on active demand and accounts of limited offering levels. Porcine, Mo. River was higher by 13.5 percent, or $137.86/st, while ruminant was stronger by 19.9 percent, or $175.99/st. Pressure was witnessed at the last week of the month on a combination of the holiday weekend, a new month, and persistent CBOT volatility.

Limited trade volume was indicated for both chicken meal and poultry-by pet grade, as thin to non-existent spot offerings hampered price adjustments….
