Pasture and Range Conditions Improve for Most States

Animal proteins were mixed for Tuesday, with unsettled undertones present in poultry items. Communication of a have-have-not spread has led to irregular ranges on all regions for poultry-by and chicken meal. Supportive tones were indicated due to short offering at some locations; however, poultry-by pet grade and chicken meal had limited trade for the day. A high of $1200/st was reported on Mid-South chicken meal in light volume while both Southeast and Mid-South poultry-by pet grade had a high of $1100/st reported, in reduced capacity. With supportive tones and higher values, the Mid-South and Southeast poultry-by pet grade, as well as Mid-South chicken meal markets, were adjusted higher from the previously set ranges.

Other items on the animal protein bulletin were flat for the day, though undertones of pressure were communicated on ruminant meat and bonemeal. Some contacts indicated prices dropped $5-$10/st, but this could not be confirmed for the bulk of trade by press…
