PBP Pet Grade and Chicken Meal Values Continue to Degrade

Limited trade was reported for Tuesday on most ruminant and porcine items with most testing market values. A significant drop on poultry-by product pet grade as well as chicken meal was witnessed to start the shortened week. Multiple participants indicated excess offerings levels, or a ‘flooded market,’
on poultry-by items. This was due to a combination of several pet food processing facilities halting, or slowing flows, for maintenance as well as accounts of lightened demand as inflation lingers. A low of $800/st was noted on chicken meal, Mid-South, while poultry-by pet grade was as low as $750/st for both the Mid-South and Eastern Shore regions. Offers at a steady range for the Mid-West were not confirmed as traded at the time of publication.
