Drought Continues to Expand, Crop Conditions Suffering

Market Update

Corn gluten items have been volatile, resulting in broad price ranges. Interest remains spotty, along with unease across various sectors, both domestically and internationally. Factors such as weather conditions, delayed exports, and global demand for corn gluten products will continue to cause disruption in the markets.

CME grain pricing dropped today, as all prices were negative across the board. Corn decreasing by $0.1425 to reach $6.23/st, due to hot and dry conditions in the midwestern U.S. causing an unanticipated decrease in corn ratings. Soybeans fell $0.2600 to $14.95/st, soybean meal tumbling by $7.30 to a final price of $407.30/st, and wheat decreasing by $0.3925 and settling at $6.85/st.
