Organic Dairy Product Sales Reflect Broader Economy

Organic dairy product sales declined in April, according to USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS).  Sales of all organic dairy products is estimated at 219 million pounds, an 8.8 percent decline year over year.  Sales of all organic dairy products decreased 1.4 percent year to date.

Organic whole milk sales – 110 million pounds – also declined in April, falling by 3.2 percent year over year.  However, organic whole milk sales have increased by 3.6 year to date, reflecting the broader trend in organic markets.
