East Coast Organic Corn Remains Buoyed

Organic corn prices on the coasts are steady. Merchandisers tell Fastmarkets that trades have transacted near $435 per short-ton in the last week. Despite some robust whole corn imports, prices remain buoyed, and growers continue to hold corn in bins.

Organic corn imports rose significantly in May as a shipment of organic whole corn made its way to the United States from Eastern Europe. According to the U.S. Customs Department, organic corn imports rose to 29.3K metric tons in May, up from 3K in April. Fastmarkets has reported that we expected a shipment from Romania which officially arrived in May.
