Animal Fats, DCO and UCO Prices Continue to Rally

Six cars of choice white grease (CWG) traded at 64 cts/lb this morning, boosted by tight supplies and pockets of strong demand. Sources again reiterated that buyers in the feed sector are pushing back on further increases and threatening, if not outright instituting reformulations with lower priced alternatives for August and September.
For the week prices were higher for animal fats, used cooking oil, distiller’s corn oil, and vegetable oils. CWG FOB Mo. River had the biggest week-on-week increase at 3.5 percent from the prior week’s average. Packer bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) was up 2.5 percent, trading at 67 cts/lb Chicago on Tuesday and holding that level through the week. Yellow grease prices were up 2.6 percent, 1.2 cts/lb over last week’s average.
