Pennsylvania has been a historical hotbed for organic agriculture in the U.S. for a variety of reasons.  The geographic location of Pennsylvania ideally situates it among vast markets for organic food in the densely populated Northeast Corridor.  In addition to geography, Pennsylvania is blessed by geology, with plentiful prime soils for their crop rotations to harness.  Political support has also helped to facilitate growth.
