Vertex Achieves 8,000 bpd Q2 Renewable Diesel Production Capacity

Vertex’s Renewable Diesel Unit Reaches Lower-End of Phase 1 Startup Projections

Vertex announced their renewable diesel unit (RDU) in Mobile, Alabama, met the company’s goal of producing 8,000 barrels per day (bpd) during second quarter operations. The revamped RDU was originally targeted to produce 8,000-10,000 bpd. Reaching their target of 8,000 bpd places Vertex as the eighth largest renewable diesel producer in the U.S.

“We are pleased to report yet another milestone for our RD project: the validation of targeted throughput capacity for the renewable diesel plant at 8,000 barrels per day. We believe this is significant to our growth potential as it further demonstrates our team’s ability to execute end-to-end project deliverables safely and reliably,” said Benjamin Cowart, President, and CEO of Vertex, during the company’s operational outlook.
