Animal Fats Follow SBO, ULSD Markets Higher

Trading was quiet to close out the week with no changes reported. Another day with surging soybean oil and ULSD/HO prices continue to underpin the strength in the market.

For the week, prices were higher nearly across the board. Packer BFT had the biggest jump, up 1.2 percent from the prior week’s average. Choice white grease FOB Mo. River was up 1.1 percent, and yellow grease was up 0.4 percent. Distiller’s corn oil traded as high as 70 FOB, but finished the week flat with the prior week’s average of 68.7 cts/lb. Outside of the fat market, soybean oil futures were up 3.8 percent for the September contract, finishing the week at an average of 66.57 cts/lb.
