Hog Slaughter Projected Seasonally Higher Into October

Trading was very quiet today with no changes reported. 

Hog slaughter finished last week at an estimated 2.531 million head, up nearly 300,000 head from the prior week, which was shortened by the Labor Day holiday. For the year, the USDA has estimated slaughter at 88.938 million head, up 1.3 percent from the same time in 2022.
