Biofuels producer Neste has expanded its capacity to supply renewable fuels to customers on the U.S. West Coast, in partnership with energy infrastructure provider Vopak, according to a news release. The Vopak Los Angeles Terminal is in the Port of Los Angeles and is connected to fuel logistics via vessels, barges, trucks and pipelines. The expansion will increase the availability of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to airlines at Los Angeles International Airport and renewable diesel (locally known as R99) for fuel stations.
“Our cooperation with Vopak shows how repurposing existing fuel distribution infrastructure can accelerate the much-needed transition to renewable energy,” Annika Tibbe, acting president for Neste US, said in the news release.
