U.S. Biofuel Capacity Reaches All-Time High

EIA Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update

The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) July Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update showed operable U.S. biofuel capacity at 23.493 billion gallons, four million gallons above June and 2.024 billion gallons above July 2022. U.S. biofuel capacity is at an all-time high. The Petroleum Supply Monthly report, also released today, disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 30 million barrels, 80 thousand barrels above June, and 409 thousand barrels above July 2022. U.S. inputs of renewable fuel were 64 percent of capacity.
