Crude Glycerin Price Edges Higher as Biodiesel Production Stalls

Crude glycerin prices are firming this week according to marketplace participants. The economic slowdown that has plagued China has helped to keep a lid on values, but crude glycerin values have begun to creep higher in recent weeks.

Most traders and producers indicated crude prices are trading in the six to 7.5 cents per pound range. Kosher crude glycerin is being pegged, by most, at exactly eight cents per pound. However, there were a couple producers saying they were offering/trading slightly over that level.
