Recent Jobs Data a Boon for Organic Demand

Consumer spending on organic animal proteins is a significant driver for organic feed demand.  Spending trends were upended in the wake of the pandemic for a variety of reasons.  Besides supply chain disruptions impacting availability, prices have been the key disruptor.

Food prices soared post-pandemic. Aside from inflation, key segments of organic markets faced additional headwinds.  Organic poultry operations were impacted by avian influenza, which disrupted management at best, and eviscerated flock populations at worst.  Other supply chain costs, including freight, accelerated increases down the chain.
