Pet Grade PBM Moves Lower on Heavier Nearby Supply

Feathermeal moved higher today in the Mid-South on confirmations of trading at $625/st. Higher have been indicated, though trade was in limited volume.

Animal proteins had limited trade this week with several participants attending the American Fats and Oils Association Conference (AFOA) in Nashville, TN. Pressure was reported on pet grade poultry by-product meal and chicken meal on multiple accounts of excess offerings in the Southeast and Mid-South regions. The increased inventory was attributed to diminished pet food demand and a closure at a pet food processing plant. Meat and bonemeal as well as bloodmeal were flat for the week, though some regions witnessed adjustments to align with traditional regional spreads.
