Edible tallow traded higher today at 60.5 cts/lb Chicago in 16 cars. Technical tallow traded down to 54.5 cts/lb Chicago in three rail cars with more openly offered and untraded at that price. Tallow into the Gulf was indicated at 52 cts/lb delivered and Chicago trading was quiet, but sources indicated that there were pockets of heaviness on packer material.
Choice white grease was higher out of the Mo. River at a top of 48 cts/lb FOB today, but with delivered values into Chicago at 48 and Gulf indications at 48 delivered, the FOB market may come under some additional pressure in the short term. However, some sellers are seeing good demand from the feed sector.
