Organic Corn Prices Flat on Low Trading Volume

Organic corn prices have stabilized, and merchandisers report little activity. We continue to see a situation where end-users purchase organic grains using an inventory-as-you-go method, leading to unwanted volatility. Our view of the harvest is mixed for organic corn, as adverse weather affected crops inconsistently, and some organic producers realized better yields than anticipated.

Organic whole corn imports will likely be lower in the current marketing year. Argentina is expected to bring 60 percent of the 63K imported into the United States in the prior marketing year. Canadian organic corn imports have slowed from more than 5.1K per month to 3.8K per month over the last 12 months.
