Edible Oil Futures Mixed ahead of U.S. Holiday

**Please note, The Jacobsen will not publish a bulletin on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. A price update will be published on Friday without commentary.**

Physical trading for vegetable oils slowed to a crawl on Wednesday ahead of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. Global futures ended mixed in thin pre-holiday trade.

Soybean oil futures were lower, in tandem with crumbling crude oil markets that were under pressure on news that OPEC+ producers decided to delay, until November 30, a production meeting that had been set for this weekend. Ahead of the closing bell, losses in soy oil were trimmed to a degree, but December soybean oil futures still finished down 59 basis points per pound, or 1.1 percent, at 53.60 cents per pound. January soybean oil futures closed the session at 52.71 cents per pound, down 72 basis points per pound, or 1.4 percent.
