November Livestock and Poultry Slaughter Update

November Livestock and Poultry Slaughter Update

**Please note – The Jacobsen will close trade for the animal proteins bulletin on Friday, Dec 22nd at 2 pm CT and publish shortly thereafter. There will be no reports on Monday, Dec 25th.**

Limited trade was reported ahead of the long holiday weekend, with several reporting light spot loads for the day.

Both porcine and ruminant meat and bonemeal (MBM) markets have been called messy and highly unsettled for the past few weeks, and this expected to continue through the end of the year. The lower slaughter levels for both porcine and ruminant are expected to clear up some of the excess offerings in the market in the coming weeks. There has been reported export trade into Mexico, serving to clean up some surplus supply. However, the lower values are pulling some from the sidelines for cheap meal. A new high of $290/st was reported on ruminant MBM on the Mo. River.
