November U.S. Soybean Crush Drops Back Slightly on Month

U.S. soybean crushing volumes totaled 200 million bushels in November 2023, the USDA reported on January 2 in its Monthly Fats & Oils report. This was down 0.5 percent from the October soybean crush.

Crude soybean oil produced in November was 2.32 billion pounds, down two percent on the month but gaining six percent from the same month in 2022. Refined U.S. soybean oil production totaled 1.71 billion pounds in November, decreasing nine percent from October but rising five percent from November 2022.

Canola seeds crushed in November totaled 231,170 tons, down from 208,071 tons the month prior but up from 180,750 tons in November 2022. Crude canola oil production was182 million pounds, up 10 percent from on the month and 26 percent on the year. Refined canola oil production came in at 161 million pounds in November, down seven percent from the month before but rising 11 percent from the same month in 2022.
