Domestic Soybean Oil Exports Increase in Final Week of 2023

U.S. soybean oil exports for 2023/24 totaled 600 tonnes (MT) during the week ending December 28, 2023, the USDA’s Weekly Export Report released on Friday showed. The soy oil export figure was up from the week before and from the four-week average. Canada was the sole purchaser of the exports.

During the final week of 2023, net domestic soybean oil sales were 1,200 MT for the 2023/24 marketing year, up 30 percent on the week and 77 percent from the four-week average. The primary destination was Canada (900 MT).

Cumulative U.S. soybean oil sales dropped 61.4 percent (11,600 MT) from the same week the year prior. Outstanding soybean oil sales moved up 2.3 percent (600 MT) from the week before and increased about 40 percent (8,000 MT) from the corresponding year-ago period.
