UCO Prices Creep Higher to End Week

Trading was mostly quiet today, but there were higher numbers confirmed into the US Gulf and the Northeast market for used cooking oil (UCO). Offers on UCO into the Gulf were indicated higher as well, up to 40 cts/lb.
There were higher offers on several fats and oils, with DCO reported offered at 49.5 cts/lb del US Gulf, BFT at 42 cts/lb, tech tallow at 49 cts/lb and choice white at 40 cts/lb. No trading was confirmed at these levels and many continue to focus on catching up from downtime tied to the extreme weather.
For the week, prices were relatively flat with week-on-week changes to the weekly averages limited to less than a ct/lb.
Despite the move higher today, UCO on a weekly average basis was down 2.2 percent from last week’s average. Bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) moved lower as well, on average, down 1.9 percent compared to last week.
Nearby CME soybean oil futures were down 1.4 percent and the 2024 D4 RINS market fell 2.8 percent.
