Porcine Bloodmeal Plummets on Excess Offerings

Porcine Bloodmeal Plummets on Excess Offerings

** Please note, The Jacobsen will not publish a bulletin on Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents’ Day. **

Large volumes of bloodmeal, Mo. River, were offered at $1000/st on both the ruminant and porcine variants. This low value depressed offering values, along with multiple accounts of reformulations on animal feed eliminating bloodmeal, led to a substantial drop. Trades at the higher end of the range were communicated as reduced; dropping and widening the range for Thursday on porcine bloodmeal for the Mo. River to $1000-1250/st. Active export demand kept values on the East Coast higher for the near term. However, limited trade was reported with most volume reportedly moved earlier in the week. Ruminant bloodmeal was lower on both the Mo. River and the Tx. Panhandle with a new range of $1200-1250/st.
